The new Lola’s closet website went live last week.. and this one is a goodie!
The tech that was used in the production is as follows, my homey Deon built the back end in PHP using the Zend framework, and I built the front end using HTML, CSS and JavaScript (using the jQuery framework to be exact). The flash bits was done by my other homey Harold.
The design was done by Lisa and Jade.. I love seeing nice designs like this come alive with JavaScript and Flash.. It makes me appreciate my job!
Check out the site!

I’m currently in the process of reading Cal Sagan’s Pale Blue Dot and I thought that I will share a very small piece of this book accompanied by a picture of Earth as seen from Mars.
I hope you find this as beautiful as I did

Look again at that dot. That’s here. That’s home. That’s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every “superstar,” every “supreme leader,” every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there–on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. – Carl Sagan

Not only is it jQuery’s birthday (3 years), but they also used the opportunity to release the latest version of their highly acclaimed JavaScript framework.
jQuery definitely changed the way I work, not only allowing me roll out really REALLY awesome work, but also allowing me to do it at lightning speeds.
They added quite a few things to this release, but I’m not going to bore you with the details, if you wanna check out the changelog, you can click here and read all about it.
Along with the release of jQuery 1.3, they also released a new API browser that you can find by clicking here.
I updated this blog’s jQuery now to version 1.3 as well and all seems to be running well.. Awesome!

The Strategy Director at work sent out a mail asking us what our predictions was for digital marketing trends in 2009. That got me thinking and I wrote and email back with a few thing that I could think of at that moment.
The result was mixed responses to the ideas which confirmed some of my thoughts and also made me rethink some of the other ideas I had.
I decided to publish the revised list here. This will allow us to check back later in the year to see how close I was with these predictions.
