Becoming Internet Famous with Vodacom FAME! 0

July 26th, 2009

Vodacom FAME!This is why I like working for Stonewall+..

To get the ball rolling on the Vodacom FAME site, we decided to make a video and upload it to the site. I got a day for shooting and about another day for editing it down to something watchable.

All I can say is that the response is quite overwhelming. Over 3000 people have watched me shake my ass lol!

Check it out here!

Update: The campaign is now over and the videos was taken down too, so the above link doesn’t work anymore :)

New Lola’s Closet Live! 0

February 25th, 2009

Lola's Closet The new Lola’s closet website went live last week.. and this one is a goodie!

The tech that was used in the production is as follows, my homey Deon built the back end in PHP using the Zend framework, and I built the front end using HTML, CSS and JavaScript (using the jQuery framework to be exact). The flash bits was done by my other homey Harold.

The design was done by Lisa and Jade.. I love seeing nice designs like this come alive with JavaScript and Flash.. It makes me appreciate my job! :)

New Gallo Images Live! 0

October 9th, 2008

Gallo ImagesThe new Gallo Images site went live this week. I finished the coding for this project about 5 months ago.. The reason it took so long to go live was because Stonewall+ only did the design and the HTML/CSS/JS coding for the site.

After we were done, the source was sent off to another agency to be integrated with a commercial package running on ASP.

This project was also a milestone for me, because this was the last big site on which I used the Mootools JS framework.

I think this one came out to very nice and I’m proud to have been a part of it.

Red Bull Rocks! 0

September 10th, 2008

Not so long ago, I wrote an entry about working on the Red Bull Big Wave Africa 2008 site.

Today, the main team that worked on the site all got these awesome gifts from Red Bull. I will try and explain, but I also attached three pictures at the bottom of this post so that you can see what it looks like.

Its basically a nice wooden box, with the coordinates of Dungeons (the place where the Big Wave Africa takes place) printed on the lid. In the box is a towel with the BWA 2008 logo printed on it! I am so stoked with this.. I’m loving it!

My Big WordPress Implementation 0

Pasco.co.za

OK, so I recently got the great opportunity to build an entire site in WordPress.

WordPress is a fee open source content management system that is primarily used for blogs (This blog was also created using WordPress)

I don’t want to bore you with all the nerdy detail of exactly how I built it, but what I am going to say is that I used a couple of plug ins to make WordPress behave in the way I wanted it to and then I also wrote a couple of PHP functions to do one or two small generic tasks on the site.

All things considered, I am very proud of this one! WordPress Go! :D
